01 Problem
One dead part strands the whole machine.
Equipment worth millions is stranded by a single discontinued component: a drive, a board, a sensor, a controller nobody makes anymore.
The rest of the machine still works, which is exactly what makes the situation expensive.
02 Why existing approaches fail
Nobody owns the smaller problem.
The existing options all fail the owner in different ways.
- The OEM
The original manufacturer's answer is to upgrade. That replaces a working machine to solve one failed part.
- Brokers
Brokers sell untested surplus. Whether the part actually works becomes the buyer's problem.
- Internal teams
Internal maintenance teams rarely have the sourcing reach to find a component that officially no longer exists.
- The default quote
Full replacement gets quoted because nobody owns the smaller problem of rescuing the component.
03 System
From part number to tested replacement.
Every case moves through the same sequence, from identifying the exact part to a replacement path that has been tested rather than assumed.
- 01Part identification
- 02Global surplus and alternate search
- 03Substitute qualification
- 04Reverse-engineering or redesign route
- 05Tested replacement path
04 What exists today
A working method, being formalized.
The sourcing methodology and the supplier-search tooling exist and are used internally. The qualification workflow is being formalized.
No case write-up has been published yet, so the evidence section below is still empty.
05 Evidence
What we can show.
No published evidence yet. This section fills as experiments produce results worth showing.
06 Status
The program, stated plainly.
This table is the actual state of the program. It changes when the state changes, not before.

07 What comes next
Case write-ups as rescues complete.
The next output is published case write-ups, released as rescues complete and as customers permit.
08 Work with us
Have equipment stranded by an obsolete component?
Send us the manufacturer, the model, the part number, photos, schematics or whatever information you have. Partial information is normal in this work.
