Ahead of the rules

ALIA Labs builds software that keeps regulated and operations-heavy organizations ahead of the rule changes and process failures that cost them money.

What you can buy from us

One product we build and run for you, one fixed-price first step, and custom work.

  • BellwetherIN PRODUCTION

Law and regulation tracking, built and run for you.

Bellwether watches the state laws, rules and bills your organization depends on, and ties every change to a date and the official text.

    • Running since October 2026
    • Build, then ongoing operation
    How Bellwether works
  • Engineering assessment

    Two weeks, fixed scope, $7,500.

A written answer on whether your problem can be solved, how, at what cost and with which risks. If it should not be built, the assessment says so. You keep the document either way.

    • 10 business days
    • $7,500, fixed
    What the assessment covers
  • Custom build

    Software and automation, from $25,000.

For the process that costs you money when it is slow, late or wrong: automating manual work, connecting systems that do not talk, scheduling tools, or software no vendor sells.

    • From $25,000
    • Scope agreed in writing first

Running today for USCLI

The United States Council for Law & Investigation publishes state-by-state trackers of the laws that govern investigators, peace officers and forensic scientists. Bellwether has kept them current since October 2026: it re-reads the official sources, confirms a change on a second read, and dates it against the official text.

USCLI was founded by ALIA’s founder, so it is a related party, not an arm’s-length customer. Every figure here can be checked at uscli.org.

2,741
official government sources monitored, re-checked around the clock
8,256
law sections across 51 jurisdictions, each linked to the official text
3
state-law databases, each covering all 50 states and DC
The Ohio page of the USCLI Licensing Ledger: the date its sources were last checked, the licensing authority, and links to the Ohio Revised Code and Administrative Code chapters it cites.

How engagements work

Most custom work starts with the two-week assessment. A build follows only if the assessment says it should.

The full process
  1. 1Describe the problem

A few paragraphs, by email or the form. An engineer reads it and tells you plainly whether it is work we should take on. No charge.

  2. 2Assessment

Two weeks, $7,500, fixed before it starts. You get the approach, the risks, a cost range and a recommendation, including a recommendation not to build.

  3. 3Build

From $25,000. Scope, milestones and acceptance criteria are agreed in writing before work starts. You get the running system, the code and the documentation.

  4. 4Operate, if you want us to

We can keep running and maintaining what we built, as we do for Bellwether. Operation is scoped alongside the build.

Other systems we are building

Every product we work on is published with its true status. Bellwether is the only one in production today. The rest are in development or planned, and each page says which.

A few paragraphs is enough. You do not need a specification, and you do not need to know the solution.
